Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | May 29th, 2007 at 09:37am I'mma gonna go to Leicester Square probably...for the premiere with all the cool kids, and then just my local cinema for the first screening...cos I can't be arsed to go into London again AND pay a tenner when I could pay a fiver.
Might just be me being stingey but pffft. |

I'm gonna buy the normal cinema ticket some days before. I'll go see it like a week after it comes out. Till the crowd dies down. I'm not as into the movies as I am into the books |

But the next weekend the book is out!! You might end up waiting TWO weeks!
I love the films really, but I love the books more. I spose when people complain about stuff being cut out, they don't really....trying to find the right word without sounding patronising...appreciate how difficult it is to condense all that plot into two hours, because no doubt people would complain as well if it included every little detail but was six hours long.
That's just my view, because you have to accomodate for the people who don't read the books as well, and who won't want to sit through it for hours on end. |

It's not that I complain about that A LOT (I do a bit )But I dunno, I just love the books so much more because I can imagine it how I want and no one is telling me how. I have a very vivid and wild imagination. |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | May 29th, 2007 at 11:58pm Yeah, and I completely understand that, but I think that the film makers have done a really good job in making the films so they're easily accessible to a lot of people, rather than being only for people who have read the books. Because my mum and dad took me to see the first three (first showing on the sunday before they came out officially, 'citin stuff!) and my mum has never picked up a HP book, but she wasn't bored completely out of her mind because it was still understandable even if you're not heavily into it, and it didn't last for hours and hours.
They have got a fantastic cast though, so that definitely helps.
Cor, if only they'd get Johnny Depp in on it, it'd be the most perfect film EVER. |

I suppose it would distract too many of the female fans, because let's face it, Johnny Depp as a roguish convicted murderer who's a bit unhinged is bound to be popular. |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | May 30th, 2007 at 05:39pm Unfortunately he never will, but we've got Gary Oldman, and Gary's a blinding actor, and in English, blinding in this context does not mean one who strips you of your vision, but rather bloody good. |

 | May 30th, 2007 at 05:40pm Plus, JK insisted that all the cast be British.
And Depp, sadly, doesn't fit that requirement. |

About 2 hours from me.
My friend who lives in Bath said some of her friends have seen him in town.
He was in London ALL the time when he was making Sweeney Todd. I'm ALWAYS there but I just failed to be there when he was out and about and drawing attention to himself.
