I don't think so, somehow.
Dumbledore said that the 'last piece of soul anyone wishing to destroy Voldemort' would attack would be the seventh piece of soul that resides in his body. Or something like that, I can't remember the direct quote.
So, yeah. Harry has to go after that piece of soul last, and to do that, he can't be a Horcrux, because then he'd have to kill Voldemort and then kill himself last, which wouldn't work, according to what Dumbledore said. Yeah. |

If that's the case then why does Voldemort keep trying to bump Harry off?
He may be mental and unhinged, but not enough for him to kill part of his soul. |

 | July 15th, 2007 at 01:55pm k so I have a theory as to what one of the instruments in Dumbledore's office does.
The insrtument that emitted a load of smoke the the shape of a snake, that Harry thought was confirming his vision. I actually think the instrument has something to do with souls (or something like that). 'cause Dumbledore asks it 'but in essence divided?' or something like that, and the snake splits in two. Like, somehow, Harry has some of Voldemort's soul inside him but they are still, in essence, divided. Or maybe it's much simpler than that and i'm just over analysing. Maybe it's showing how Harry and Voldemort are really alike, but still divided.
Which actually sort of makes it sound like I think Harry is a Horcrux, which I actually don't.
Yeah I'll stfu now. |

 | July 15th, 2007 at 02:33pm I read something about the cover image being a big clue on Veritaserum, but I just ignored it because it seemed to intricate and stupid. But then I was just thinking that Jo doesn't put something in the book if it's not going to be of use or interest. The vanishing cupboard, for example, just seemed like a good Weasley twins prank, but turned out to be much more than that in the next book.
The theory goes that Gringotts is going to play an important part in Book 7 as shown by all the jewels and gold on the front cover of Deathly Hallows. Hermione, Ron and Harry appear to be being sucked into some kind of a vortex along with the gold. Griphook, or whatever his name was, said in book 1 to Harry and Hagrid that that's what would happen to anyone who tried to break into one of the high-security vaults. It would definitely make sense for the seemingly random cover, and also for Jo putting that supposedly passing reference in book 1. |

 | July 15th, 2007 at 02:37pm It doesn't seem to me like they're being sucked in, it looks to me as if they're being thrown out.
But I do agree that Gringotts will be a vital part of book 7. Besides, where would Voldeort keep a Horcrux? In a safe place. Where's the safest place to hide something, except Hogwarts, according to Hagrid? Gringotts. Joined up thinking woo |

It might be in Bellatrix's vault, cos I doubt Voldie's got his own personal bank account and Bellatrix would never destroy anything or her precious master's. |

| July 15th, 2007 at 05:13pm I just got a weird mental image of Voldy-poo walking up to a bank teller and sweet-talking her into letting him get something from "his" account without a withdrawl slip. Nice toupee, Dark Lord. |

Yeahh, I noticed that, too, which is more evidence of the dementor sucking Voldemort's part-soul out!

 | July 15th, 2007 at 05:32pm omg, I've never thought of using dementors to destroy Horcruxes.
Then again, it's not really in their nature to listen to orders/harm Voldemort. |

Yeah, but if they thought it was in their interest...
Remember, they're on no one's side, they work for the highest bid. So if Harry could offer them something that Voldemort couldn't...
I dunno. |
