nesting upon the tip of your parapraxic tongue - to
watch them fade and wilt like neglected orchids, have
you ever watched your lips fall at your feet like
discarded daisy chains? Consonants, vowels, rooted
like common garden weeds to my internal organs.
My lungs in a state of morbid decay, intricate lexis
entangled in the soft tissue that makes me patchwork.
I hold an ancient quilt, stained with generations of
flaws and idiosyncrasies, to my fragile chest. I wrap
myself in its searing comfort every night, and rest my
head between the empty caverns of its creases.
It is my home; my comfort blanket from a dark and
tormenting world - if I were not so frightened I would
fold it tightly, and conceal it to the back of my closet.
Maybe it's time for me to forge myself a new habitat. |
