Some things hurt more then a blade

Some say they got to forget the hurt
they say it helps them focus,
the pain from the woud is refreshing,
teaches them a lesson.

Well I know of a certian way,
much more painful then cutting
another form of self-harm
so painful, it cuts deeper than the blade
and the wounds it leaves,
they never fade.

LOVE
for simple letters
arranged in such a way,
controversial
some people look upon it and scoff
others smile slightly and grip thier lovers hand
some just weep silent tears
tears that no one can see
tears that bring back old memories, of what they had
and will never have again.

Love is the latest form of suicide
falling in love is easy
falling out of love is painful for the one left behind
the only thing you can garentuee about love is
it will hurt
it will always hurt
even if the hurt is only the missing of your lover when they are away for a day
or prehaps the longing to be held by he who left you
love will always find a way they say
pity they never finished thier sentence
what they should say is
love will always find a way to hurt you.

And with my dear children
as I close the chapter
I have only one thing for you to keep in mind;
never tell some one you love them
until you are on your death-bed


[[ok guys Im looking for criticsim as to how to improve this, I write song lyrics and random ramblings as opposed to actual poetry, which to me is a whole new art. So does anyone have any suggestions as to what I ought to do to imrpove this? Most of my "poems" follow this format, hardly any of them have a proper rhyme scheme and Im looking for tips on how to incorparate that in order to imrpove
