 | July 1st, 2007 at 05:17pm Something I noticed in the first book, before the Sorting and on the train going to Hogwarts, most people are like "Gryffindor's best but I wouldn't mind being in Ravenclaw". There's a hint at their possible greatness; everyone was willing to be one. |

 | July 3rd, 2007 at 11:27am Yeah, but think of the sorting hat rhyme.
Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot,
And treat them just the same."- OOTP.
If you think about it, all the other houses were snobby/prejudice in some way. Slytherin was prejudice on grounds of ancestry and breeding, Ravenclaw was elitist in terms of intelligence and Gryffindor only wanted to teach the brave kids. But Hufflepuff was the one who said fuck it, they're all good enough, which actually reminds me of Dumbledore (I know he was a Gryffindor, but yeah). It's something Hagrid says in one of the books, something like Dumbledore not caring about things such as being muggleborn as long as you've got the talent to do magic.
So Hufflepuff is good because they teach a lesson in tolerance |
