I get on the bus with a woman that fried her skin in the 70s
I walked past a man on a platform preaching
I'm coming home but I don't want to leave here

I see an old woman with the same necklace as me
I love the act of chilvary on the stairs
I want my lover and I in the 50s
I'm trying not to stare
You're all so intriguing

I'm lost in my thinking
About the afternoon that's just passed
We all sit eclectic and separatly
I'm guessing about all of your pasts
You're all just landscape

I get on the bus with a child caught stealing
I walked past a man who was homeless and smoking
I'm coming home but I don't want to leave here

I'm walking next to foreign students
I watch them and they're so similarly different
I contemplate as I move on
What exactly defines our difference?
You're all so interesting

I'm bustled amongst subcultures
Drum beats timing my steps
I look all around me, I look all around
I know music is timing their steps
And then darling I see your face

I get on the bus with a man with a violin
I walked past a man we paid coppers to sing
I get on the bus with you waving goodbye
I walked along the seafront with you by my side

You carried me
And placed me by the sycamore leaves
You carried me
And placed me by the sycamore leaves
You carried me
And sat with me by the sycamore leaves
I'm coming home and you're the reason I don't want to leave here
