I said, lets burn this shit down. And the smiles will disappear Freedom only comes every so often And I said, smiles look better upside down And you can run or you can join Be a leader or a follower He said, I'll take you to relief. I said, let's split our face in two. Fuck your empathy, the end is only you. You said you wanted something different, the one leap you have to take Watch your step. He said our way leads to hell. I said freedom's not regret. Open the door before you get left behind. And it's its own contradiction (hypocrites) You'll get left behind. Part II I've got your winner, (He will rule.) But now everyone's scared of something. Or is it that nobody's scared of everything? When will you take the meaning of a real smile. It's beauty won't make it through that thick head. We're all trapped, together and apart. Inside. Or is it out? We're all just stuck. And glued to the ground or glued to the screen. It never really matters. You can't fly because they never taught you how. They can't fly because ignorance cut off their wings. (And another battle ensues) (We're all lost now...) Always trapped. Always stuck. Together and apart, all the same. We'll learn one day that our soul's just a cell. Our body a guard. We'll learn one day that we'll never escape. Only because I said we won't. Only because you believe you can't. So the screens are our shrinks. Our captors. They told us we can't escape. We believed them. And we're trapped because they said we were. We believed them. (Let's burn this shit down...) I don't know if swearing is allowed on here. If it's not, then go ahead and lock this. Or tell me and I can change it around. |
