Flowers on my cup
yellow and pink as can be
spread out on a field
of tan for eternity
the edges shine
like white lights across the sky
I drink the last few drops
It's time to say night night.
I'll see you in the dawn
when the sunlight makes the air
warm with anticipation
of the school bus that
soon will arrive over there
and after you have gone
my cup I shall wash
and put inside a cupboard
so as not to collect dust. |
