Drunken promises
Forgotten tomorrows
And dreams that are never quite the same
Clinging to bottles to get in a photo
To provide your status
The sobriety brings vague memories to exaggerate for Monday morning’s kiss and tell

You’re coaxing me and subtly mocking
That I wanted to stay in
I’m looking at you falling about and I just find it pathetic
Your face to my statement just tells it all
My plan for the weekend doesn’t fit with what I should be at the age of sixteen
I rather like it

Snap a picture you won’t remember ever taking when you’re sober
We don’t belong in this world
Wear that old dress and call yourself funk
And you’re drinking just to get drunk
I don’t want to be in that world

The walk home in the early hours only ends up in regrets
You say you can’t remember much (I don’t believe you)
Intoxicated with what you think you should be
Oh this is so tired and boring
Hyperboles fly like bullets and never shoot me
Everybody’s fascinated

Misinterpreted words of wisdom
Aspirations fade away at the weekend
You could be great
Handwriting slips at your fingertips
Reciting scripts of nights before
Now you’ve lost it all

Snap a picture you won’t remember ever taking when you’re sober
We don’t belong in this world
Wear that old dress and call yourself funk
And you’re drinking just to get drunk
I don’t want to be in that world

Your attempts to impress them are all in vain
And your efforts to look different make you look the same
Your attempts to impress them are all in vain
And your efforts to look different make you look the same

I stayed in Friday night, I don’t fit in the cliché
I thought it was you but you all look the same anyway

I thought it was you but you all look the same anyway
I thought it was you but you all look the same anyway
