Green Day's stolen riffs

someone, I assure you this nameless figure is well knowing and schooled in music...Was complaining about how his/her band is/was denied play on MTV but he/she thinks its unfair that MTV will play "shit bands" like Green Day that have stolen riffs from people including The Ramones and The Misfits...

In my opinion, I can admit the song arrangements of Green Day are very similiar but uncomparable to bands like The 'mones or the 'Fits... Though, I can't really draw a conclusion though because its all a similair style of music and there is bound to be very very similair sounds within it...Green Day is surely NOT a "punk" band but that have certain punk-esque elements attributed to their style...
Do you think these points are relevant???

and...no...About GD being punk...Personally, I think they have "punk spirit" but their last couple of albums have not been "punk" music.

Your ignorance fascinates me. Like I've always said, they do still sing punk music it's just in a different form bc it would get old and boring if it was all the same. Why do they have to stay the same all the time? Why would you think they have stolen riffts from anybody?
