An Identity Theft Case. The following article describes what Jocelyn Kirsch and her beau did to enjoy the 'high life'.

Here

So, after reading this, what are your thought? Does she deserve a longer sentence?

Personally, I don't think her potential six years in the slammer is a harsh enough sentence. She stole more than $111,000 alone. That's big cash! And the fact that after she was arrested, she continued to steal people's identity and enjoy her so called 'high life'. That right there should have gotten her an extra few years!

I read about this woman in Rolling Stone a while back.

At the time, it was too early for a sentence to be released and I'm pretty surprised that it's that mild for someone who has taken so much from other people.

I agree. Six years is not long enough, judging by the amount of money that she's stolen to simply...well, show off her boob job and fantastic vacations.

With her, I'm honestly torn between two opinions.

My first would be the sentence is too harsh. She really sounds like someone who wanted a good time. She sounded like someone who wasn't all that rich but she found a way to get all this money and POOF she found herself in jail for it.

My second opinion is she should get something worse. She stole money from someone and that's just wrong. What did she get out of all this aside from some plastic surgery and a few vacations that won't last?

So, I guess my real opinion is she deserves more. If she's going to do the crime then she needs to serve the time.

Yeah, I read about her in Rolling Stone. I think six years is an okay enough sentence, because...well, six years is a considerably long time to spend in a jail cell, when you think about it.

But then, considering how she screwed these people over, you'd think they'd give her more, like 8-10 years maybe, and considering how pointless it all was...if it was something like, stealing money to pay for something important, like a medical treatment that determines life or death, then you'd maybe lighten it up a bit...but really, getting some surgery and traveling isn't worth spending jailtime.

So overall I think she should get a few more years, if for no other reason the uselessness of what she did.

I agree. I think that 6 years would be fitting if she had used all of that money on more meaningful things, whether it be for herself or family. I am surprised that the sentence is that short considering the number of hair appointments and other useless crap she bought.
