Do you think 21st Century Breakdown could be made into a movie?

Certain previous rock operas (eg Tommy, Quadrophenia, The Wall, etc.) have all been adapted into feature films. Some weren't that great compared to their originals (Tommy), some took a new approach and told the album's story in sort of a different way (Quadrophenia), and some were flat out interesting (The Wall). Do you think 21st Century Breakdown would be good if adapted to the big screen? Who would direct the film? Who would be good actors to play the characters in the story. How do you think they'd treat it? Would they make it like The Wall where there's barely any dialogue? Would they make it like Quadrophenia, where there's a fair amount of dialogue while keeping much of the music from The Who's original studio album?

I think it would be an AMAZING movie!! When I first listened to 21st Century Breakdown, I pictured the entire thing in my head like a movie.

For the actors, I know Billie Joe said in an interview somewhere that he thought Robert Pattinson and Ellen Page would be good for the roles. That would be cool, I can picture them as Christian and Gloria.
I don't know who I'd choose to direct it....somebody awesome.....

And if it was a movie, I'd like to see a good amount of dialogue added, to fill in any gaps in the story. But I'd want to see all of the songs in it, without much editing or shortening any of the music, since that would be the heart of the story.

I really hope they make it into a movie someday. It has potential to be INCREDIBLE.

If 21CB was to be made into a movie, I think the actor and actress in the 21 Guns video would be the perfect fit.

I don't know if that's a stupid question. I hope not. I've been out of the Green Day loop for the last couple of years and I only very recently got back into them, so I've missed a lot of news.

He should do it on a regular basis Nah, I kid!

I think it would be pretty cool, because like Mike said, the album isn't exactly a concept album but all the songs do link together, so it could work, but whether or not it will be done I guess no one's sure. We'll have to see how well American Idiot as a film is recieved and whether it works.
