When I started playing I just listened to alot of bands that had a really good bass player, like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Mudvayne, and you can kinda study their different styles and learn about all the different techniques you can do. Like tapping and slapping and popping and all that stuff. Then you just practice daily and get better and better.

They usually don't run that much (the most I ever paid was nine bucks) It really helps you in the long run, and you'll earn that money back if you go busking.
