sandy claws is being very generous this year and getting me a mike dirnt sig. bass. Now, i can play guitar fairly well so i was wondering if any seasoned bass players have any advice?? |

Posts: 5246 | November 19th, 2005 at 01:55pm once you get it, play it for a long time each day so your callouses build up and it's less painful that way. also start with using your fingers to pick, don't use a pick yet, you can build the speed of your right hand fingers if you start finger picking first. |

you have to learn to use the right fingers on the right frets. dont just use on finger even though it seems less painfull but if you work at it your fingers get used to it.

Posts: 88 | November 23rd, 2005 at 09:20am Ive got a Mikey bass, the pickups are awesome. Just make sure you practise with your fingers first using your thumb to rest on and when you move to the pick make sure you get a suitable gauge and hold it correctly! But you will find your style. |
