You should get a guitar starter kit. My brother got one for $150 that included a guitar and amp.

I got my Gibson at Target for $145.

well I was able to rent a Behringer (I know it's not that good) with amp, strap, picks, and everything for a month for 40$, so when I got better I could buy a better one. Now I have a *forgets name* but it's much better, and a Marshall amp, picks, strap, headphones, and stand all for 388$

Hmm, depends which guitar style ou're thinking of learing. Acoustic guitars can range anywhere from $50+ . Good quality electrics tend to be usually above $300. (I'm using Australian currency here). I bought a standard squier fender strat for about $400. The amp (roland cube 15) cost me around $180 and the shop threw in everything else (strap, picks, bag) for around $20. My Acoustic cost me (well my parents) $250.00

my first cost like 230 bucks. I have a Mini Squier by Fender. My second one is a normal Gibson, but I got it for my birthday so they didn't tell me how much it cost

i picked mine out it was only 200 dollars for an amp,picks,obviously the guitar,a dvd,guitar bag,a guitar strap,and a tuner like thing pretty awesome i think

i got mine for xmas like 2 years ago so i have no idea. its cool though and my dad picked it out and he plays like every instrument ever made with strings, so its defintitely (sp?) not a crap load.

i was selling candy for my trip to NYC for art club at school and i bought a guitar with the money instead, it was only like $230, i still have it now, it playes good, never had any problems with it, its not a famous brand or anything either. id say unless your getting into it for a serious band or work or something u dont need to spend a fortune on it

...argh...it annoys me how guitars are so much cheaper in the U.S than in the U.K. I'll probably bring a guitar back with me when i go over there in the summer.

i got mine from "Toys r Us"....(dont ask, it was cos i couldnt get i harp)....Fender Squire Strat with amp.....130 pounds

Well, if you go to Sam Ash, you can get one of those big packs with an electric guitar and strap and 2 picks was an amp for about $150. If you want a Fender, then it'll cost about...well, if you want one with good detailing, then it'll cost about $150 or more. If you just want a basic Fender Telcaster then it can be around $120 or $140. Those are the prices for the Sam Ash that I go to.

I got mine for christmas last year. I dont think it cost my penny pinching parents that much money considering they got it at Wal Mart.
