Gangs are usually made up of insecure people. I watched a video about gangs at school once and the members all say that a gang is like a family. I get that. They may have come from a broken home and such, but do they really need to go through with all the violence to be a family? I don't get that. Confused

like i said before, i come from an area where there are a lot of gangs and there is things for them to do. but they still want to go out and cause trouble with other gangs. i really dont understand what fun there is in standing about getting drunk, fighting with each other and getting in trouble with the police.

Well it depends.
You can have a 'gang' just by having a few friends and it doesn't mean a thing. But what you're obviously talking about is the type of gangs that go around intimidating people, setting fire to stuff and violence.
There's no need for it I think. But what probably happens is a group of friends grow up together and when one of them starts to change, slowly they all do.

Your right about some of that, but with the end of it you're wrong because with me and my friends it's the exact opposite. We were best mates at one point but then I turned punk and started to like things they didn't and they turned on me and started to use their friendship against me. So now I can't hang around with the others in the gang that can still stand me.
