The phosphorous glow lights up a million homes.
Each desperate to see who did it, what happened
To see if their favourite character is back in check
Have they been thrown out or murdered?
Has the teenage girl finally given birth?
Or perhaps they will watch their fellow human beings
Being mentally tortured in confined houses
Forced onto us by the powers that be as great television

And in long view
Our brains drip out our ears
As our mental state drops and
The cerebellum turns to molten tissue

Scandal after scandal in a bid to gain our attention
A nation lulled into perpetual dull imagination
Drooling for the next installment of some far fetched saga
Lost in a world of regurgitated tripe and repetitive events
Where will we draw the line?
Will it be "DIY Taxidermy?" I think not
The scarcity of individual thought prohibits this
Imagination sold for a few bucks a month
