Spirit of 1977 Shoot Me, I'm A Newbie

growing trouble for the USA,
"punk rock" marketing's greatest scheme.
highest bidders on your mind,
but i wont let them brainwash mine.
expansion to the PCA,
their musical legacy is such a shame.
miss the one they left behind.
now they're the frontmen of millions of shrines.
sold themselves to the industry.
now they're pop culture's latest craze.
greedy, pistols' wannabes.
it'll take death to end this phase.
your souls up for auction
but you wont buy yourself back.
you just keep jamming to that fake punk
and dressing in black.
all the "teeny boppers" screaming "he's so hot!",
makes me wanna cover them in snot.
all the obsession has made this band worse.
over-exposure has been such a curse. |

Shows passion and potential. I thought the flow was decent. None of my poems flow, lol. I liked the second stanza the best. |
