Peter Petrelli King For A Couple Of Days Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 4161	July 21st, 2006 at 03:03pm Looks like my writers' block is over. I've never written a poem about suicide. There's a first time for everything. (That doesn't mean the poem is about me) She's a delicate firefly enclosed in a metaphorical enigma of a sealed glass jar; running dangerously low on oxygen, and bruising her wings against the walls. The midsummer twilight keeps her bloodshot eyes awake, ensnared, crying out for rescue. Her eyes betray her sickness and cataclysmic exhaustion. Her fragile heart would risk being entirely torn asunder, if only she could entrust her tender flesh to affectionate arms. Storybook knights aren't always crafted from shining armour. She needs her sweetheart saviour more than ever. He'll push his palms against the suffocating walls; he has not the physical strength but the sensitivity that can induce spiders' web cracks to shiver through the glass. Ghostly pale with shock and consumed by anxiety. Her ragdoll hair cascades down her shoulder blades and kisses her spine; as tangled and torn as her gentle heart. Cinnamon medicines bleed from whispering lips, deeply staining her sleepy mattress and aching pillows. His jacket acts as her sheets and he's switched off the alarm. Pray to the skies she'll never wake before the trauma has been purged from her veins... anaesthetic just doesn't soothe the soul. Sleepy angels need bed sheet chrysalis, and hours spent dabbing at mascara ravaged cheeks. Scars aren't always best concealed.

Relating to the poem though, it's as Nietzsche wrote; "The thought of suicide is a huge comfort, with its help you can get through many hard nights." Pray to the skies she'll never wake before the trauma has been purged from her veins... anaesthetic just doesn't soothe the soul I really love those lines too.
