The other day, I was watching Jerry Springer and he was interviewing members of the KKK. What they had to say was disgusting and low. I strongly believe, alongside many others, that no matter what your race, gender, sexuality, etc, everyone should be treated equally.

(sighs) I know how you feel. One day we were in the Library for school, learning about researching papers and how to tell if a site is valid. Well, there was a site on Martin Luther King Jr. and it was horrible! It look perfectly professional and up front and legal, but it was all these horrible and henous lies about him, it turned out if you went to the homepage it was made by a white supremist group. It was so low. It was like luring people to their side.
Both of my parents are homophobic and it really upsets me when they go and insult gays and bisexuals. Some of my best friends are gay or bi.

I dislike even calling homosexual people gay becuase of what the term is used for in this day and time. People say "thats so gay" and could be talking about their lasagna, and I doubt the lasagna likes other noodles of the same gender.

Yeah, I've found it weird. The few korean people that I've met have been extremely bitchy and racist towards me.
I'm guessing that these sort of people have clogged up minds. They can't see beyond an image.
Like so many posts already made, I believe that people are people. No matter who we are attracted to, what our skin color is, what we believe in spiritually, or what gender we are, WE ARE ALL PEOPLE. We all should be treated equally, no matter how different we are from one another.
Most people these days believe that sexism against women is mostly just about them not being as strong/smart as men, and not being able to do certain jobs as well. But it is much more complicated than that (you all know this, so don't yell at me. Let me explain first).
I love being a girl, but I don't love the stereo types that come along with being one. I hate the fact that girls seem to be classified in society as sex symbols, because the media seems to portray that that's all girls can be. I'm a drummer in a punk band, which I find is rather empowering, and in my band we have a female guitarist/singer, and a male bassist. Earlier on, we had a female bassist, but we realised that we would go nowhere as an all-girl band. I mean, just think about it: what kind of girl band is EVER taken seriously these days? The Pussy Cat Dolls? The Donnas? The Spice Girls? And t seems the only punk all-girl bands tend to stay underground, or are not very high on the fame heirarchy. We realised that if we ever wanted to make it big, we couldn't go in with 3 girls. We would pretty much be a joke, or seen as a "girl power" group. HELL NO.
So eventually our bassist lost intrest, and we were left looking for a replacement. We decided that we NEEDED to get a guy to be in our band, because that way if we ever got big, the fact that he is a guy might help us keep at least a shred of dignity.
Anyway, I'm just really pissed at how our society treats people these days. We say we have evolved and grown more multicultural/whatever, but really, we haven't gotten very far. =/

I am strongly against all racism, homophobia, sexism, ageism, and discrimination.
People can bitch and moan, insult, and threaten other races, and other peoples beliefs, but thats not going to get them anywhere. They can hate it all they want- but someone is always going to be different from they are. Whether it be their skin colour, gender, sexual preference, or even beliefs.
I have a gay cousin, and a homophobic friend. I get incredibly offended when she goes, "It's gross. It's not right."
...But then she goes and says it's only right when "Emo boys" kiss.
And I think the worst thing is when there are racist authoritve figures.

I really don't care about calling things gay any more.
Yeah, so what if lasagne and pasta and numerous other things are gay, it might be a mis-wording but Gay never meant homosexual in the first place anyway.
Yes. Homophobia is bad, whatever. Can you feel the apathy?. I'm not homophobic, but if you are then thats your lookout. Nothing is going to change the world and society.
