He’s the king of rock ‘n roll
And I’m his queen
We’re absolutely perfect;
Or so I’ve been told
We own this town
All who reside within
For our looks and wealth, renowned
Envied by those riddled with sin.
We dance with adrenaline demons
We soar with angels though we are heathens
For in this no mans land
We are gods and cannot be damned
The elite rub shoulders with us and see
That whilst we glide in and out of lovers
The one constant we have is all we need
Love is what we have. We have each other
Our beauty makes for hate
Their eyes upon us glowing green with envy
We glide the streets morning, noon and late
With our knowing smiles, and eyes brimming with pity
That world has now taken all we had
We are not loved and adored
We were a passing fad
It seems to be thrown to the gutter, is some kind of lore
And so we stand, taking one last look at our heaven
This place is cold, cruel- and with no explanation needed, we’re leaving
They don’t notice we have gone. They have new idols today
Looking at us with smug smiles, but they too shall pay |

I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. Especially 'We dance with adrenaline demons We soar with angels though we are heathens'. I adored those lines. |
