OKay, so I wrote this poem when I was at camp. It's about a boy named Davin whom I have the hugest crush on and yeah... The shell represents my love for Steven and other things like my feelings. It's like a metaphor, but different.
This shell.
I hide inside myself.
What do they think?
What does he think?
Pounding against the walls.
Flesh breaks on cold exterior.
Let me out.
Keep me in.
They break through this prison.
I am blinded.
That gleam.
That smile.
This weight.
Every little piece of that shell,
I cling to. Gasping for air as he
snatches those pieces from me.
As I unclench my stiff hands and
watch him walk away. There he goes.
My beaten form follows.
Hollow heart pounding deep
inside my chest.
I turn my back, beacause he looked away.
I have no choice, for my heart
belongs to another, and he has no idea.
I know it sucks... |
