So this is how it’s going to be, A twist of fate, to make you see; This isn’t me, it never was; What was the fakest thing about us? That had to be the love. Is it wrong that the only people I care about are ones I’ve never met? Oh, how I wish I’d never met you. Why is it, then, that my life’s being set? I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do. Fear is instilled so far in me, I don’t know whether I can rid myself of it. This isn’t the person I want to be; I think I’ve found my weakness; To the brother I so dearly miss. You’d think a bond as strong as ours, would stop for nothing, wouldn’t you say? But take a look; I’m an open book, though I still do shy away. How can you blame me, much less anyone else? Lately, I’ve been comparing you to myself. You’re stronger; you never seem to back down. You’re trusting; when I am not so easy to be around. Let’s make a deal, no catch; I swear it. Just promise me first, you won’t regret it? The first one to cave, they’ll be forgiven. That way, everybody’s got a win. The realization of this sad, sad situation, Is that I’ve missed you more than words can say, Let alone a whole poem. |
