Two sides to the war with a boy stuck in the middle
This ain’t no ordinary fight over religion or oil
This shit’s serious “ A family at war now
What’s the reason?
Damn good question.
He cheated? That’s not out of the normal
He cheated with her sister? How is he able?
Is this a fucking soap opera or is this the truth?
Cheating with the sister only happens in the youth.
But bang. Mid 40s and yet still they manage
To fuck up two sets of lives, what commendable courage.
And the best thing is, peoples only reaction
The boring predictable one, no decisive action:
“It’ll be all right boy; things will work out”
But a full-scale family warzone, no one hears you shout.
The machine guns of words and insults rain from every angle
In the middle sits a boy “ caught up in the tangle.
“We’re sorting it like civil human beings”
Or words to that effect. Words which gave this boy
Some heart, hope, warmth inside himself. But wait
She’s got a better idea. This should be good, he thinks.
Wage war against him, use the poor boy as bait.
What’s the reason?
Damn good question.
He cheated? We know. We’re trying moving on.
He cheated with her sister? Ok so it’s damn harsh
That a girl should be subjected to the deceit and the lies
But the boy as bait wont work no matter how hard she tries
Unless she wants her son hurt more than she ever was
Hurt beyond repair knowing that she was the cause.
And the best thing is, peoples only reaction

A broken, defeated boy.
