Moonlight shines through tearstains on the window panes.
Jewelled remnants of jet black misery in smiling eyes and
the only sorrow in love is the truth in the lies we tell.
And this is a re-run tragedy serrated into two acts;
the union and separation of our porcupine hearts when
pain is more addictive than nicotine kisses on my skin.
We never played human more than we did with our luck.
Another game of Russian roulette with the telephone
receiver just to apologise to the answering machine,
thinking back to all the conversations we never had.
We spend our time passing riddles beneath the mattress so
we're sleeping with our mistakes for old times' sake just
to recall how everything has always been a waste of whines.
But you talk the sweetest philosophy when you dreaming;
pillow-talk desirable to ears scorched with scorning.
"We'll never go down in history when we're bypassed
personalities, just dying to get our place on the map.
My lazy hearts and false starts were never in jest.
I'm just trying to prove I'm worth the impatience but
the best that I could give were my bruised heartbeats."
You were always the academic to the third degree and
I'm just reality's rejected dreamer sat by the wayside
where you found me despondent, flicking pebbles at stars,
attempting to crack holes in the night to let Heaven out.
You read deeper into my actions than I intended you to;
seeing the re-creative in my self-destructive tendencies
when all I was doing was erasing every mistake I made
and I always loved to see you tongue-tied with jealousy,
ripped sheets to prove my honesty and broken glasses
just to provide double-vision to one-sided arguments,
so I'll prompt you until there are envious skies and
wait until the thunderstorm unleash their mercy on me.
It's the only time you're passionate and I'm responsive
only listening to the words that you never actually say.

I love it.
This was my favourite part, even if it was an incredibly long sentence.

Jesus Christ woman, I loved it!
But really, I think this one was even awesome-er than usual. So awesome in fact that I just used really bad grammar and got away with it, because I was complimenting such a beautiful poem.
to write words that example your mind
is to not leave others behind
but to repell foreward in time
