It's gotten to the extent that I can't taste the alcohol for the tears,
but I don't care as long as my senses are getting drunk on something.
I found another shot of ritalin in the cupboard with my fame on it so
there's another mismatched prescription cocktail going down the hatch.
Get ready to catch me beyond the brink of delirium, my sober alibi,
because I surely won't be able to catch myself in that kind of state.
And this is the third time today that I've left a message like that
on your voicemail, playing the attention whore for sympathy points.
Tally them up with all of my near misses and I'll play short-sighted
just so I can't see what a mess I've made of life this time round.
And I'll blame the world for the dilemmas these lips created while
the reason rests beneath this skin that's too thick to absorb truths.
Did I feel you crashing down to rock bottom late last night, darling?
I could hear the curses on your tongue, laying daggers for my actions,
the ground stirring beside me while I was clock watching but your timing
has always been that bit delayed whenever it comes anywhere close to us.
I've been camped here for my whole life waiting to finally meet you in
this type of lifestyle that has always been about dropping out in a new
kind of way with every scag and scar owned abused as fashion statements.
And I've always played the fool falling for most of my life, usually
endlessly in love, typically with all the wrong kinds of twisted people.
Still this is the way I make my make-up run; in circles like my mind, and
this is the only emotion that I've ever learnt to exploit for company. |
