Under the watermelon lights.

Hidden behind exotic silken screens,
painted the patterns, in a language
foreign and old, vivid rambling of
some forgotten philosopher. Fine, chic
ebony, holds my fan together, it hides
my desparation. Salvation? Hold on
and listen to the melodies of the
redundant, fervid notes that keep
some form of pathetic lies. Yet, they
hold my nerves steady tonight.

The violent whining of the violas flex
my back, so serpentine in movement,
I feel like I'm waltzing in a blaze of smoke
or a wall of cautious fog, no pressure
on the balls of my feet, no pain striking
like the ever present body clock, nothing.
Numbness, so cliché, I could be dead.
My legs flow like the Amazon, full of deadly
nightshade, it runs through my veins.
Monsters, a gallery of someone else's
nightmare.

My stitched up gown, a hasty scribble
of once lushious green, now a stale colour
of dry seaweed, swirls around my fluid
body, I watch from the grand balcony.
I watch my body writhe like a prehistoric
worm. A mere insect waiting to die from
wounds inflicted my a cruel, stupid higher
species. A façade, illustrated by my
stole, pure white plastic, limply hanging
off my right shoulder, like a resting wing
of a semi-angel, it looks a disgusting pink,
that of cheap rosé wine, yes whine I do,
under these watermelon lights.

Cinderella, dressed in haggard, magical
clothes, she has no beauty compared to
the gilt-ridden mirrors and trinkets. Carved
in flawless ivory and sanctified golden hues,
polished so clearly, you may see many
distortions in their face. False, more crude
blood mixed in, we wear blood. Insane?
The truly insane, you cowards in gowns,
dancing thoughtlessly into a distant smog,
open your eyes, you're all dancing on an
oil field and a war path. My dress dissolves,
soldier, I am a soldier.

That's so cool.

That was simply amazing. The title intrigued me so much I just had to read it.

I thought it really did suck.

I can honestly say that I don't understand this poem, but I don't have the vocabulary that most people here do. It sounded good though...
