Mirror

Rhyming poem. In my opinion it sucks. I thought I'd post it here to see what you think. =]


The rain was flowing down, silent as ever.
Another day to go, maybe things would get better.
The sheets were crumpled, from hours of sleep.
Never had she had nightmares so deep.

Hours of torment, screaming and pain.
She was jealous of her; her thoughts in vain.
Only no one noticed how much she was hurt,
Like her heart was shattered, lying among the dirt.

Only one saw through her fake smile on her face,
What she saw was no smile, no happiness, not even a trace.
She was living a lie, and everyone believed it.
But some of the pieces just didn’t fit.

The night had come, and no one was home.
She looked in the mirror and saw a face, sunken to the bone.
But for once she saw past that and saw the person she really was inside,
And remembered when she was happy, such a distant time.

She just had to remember the little girl that lived inside her,
And believe that things could really get better.
And the one person that saw through her,
Was her own reflection on the mirror.

I loved that.
