If I shut my ears I can hear them
If I run from them, I’ll soon be caught
And suddenly, none of my message is thought
In one ear and out the other
Warmth encloses my body as I continue to shudder
If I turn my head, I’ll see the end
The one escape is right up ahead
I move closer but it keeps drifting away
And in this coffin of sheets I lay
Afraid to open my eyes once again
How can I tell who is a foe or friend
Eyes are bloodshot but they’re perfectly white
I scream but no sound seems to come out tonight
Why am I sitting here letting it out
Me against them this is quite a bout
I don’t know why God put me here
But if he’d like to explain, I’ll lend him my ear
I’ve never needed anyone so much
To not have them there when I needed a crutch
If I felt love does that make love real
If I felt hate does that make hate real
If I felt lust does that make lust real
If I felt health does that make me heal
If I touched her does that make her real
If I cried help will it appear?
If I touched grace does that make grace real
If I feel me does that make me real
I need some eyes in the back of my head
So I can see when my last sentence is read
I hope it hurts to the point I yell
I hope everyone that hurt me goes to hell
I don’t feel sorry for the things I’ve done
I will take credit for the things I’ve won
I’ll see my reflection and just assume
This isn’t the cause of my impending doom
