And the look in your eyes showed me you cared.
We didnt want to, but we had to at best.
And that is the fact that I most detest.
We would do it quickly and cause little pain.
But no matter how we tried, it still felt the same.
Its my fault. I cut the flesh with my mistakes.
Youd bludgeon it. Make sure it never wakes.
Well dig a hole and bury what used to be.
My intent to believe and my reason to breathe.
Ill ache, weep, and bleed, but it wont bring it back.
This murderous outrage, Im longing to lack.
A steak to the heart, or a blow to the head?
It doesnt matter, because our love is dead.
Scarlet stains remain where it used to be.
Its bled out and wont be found for an eternity.
Severed limbs are carried away in a sack,
But, its gone, and babe, well never get it back. |
