Too Close To Be Enough

This is another Trillie type poem, again based on a picture. I don't remember where I found the picture or where it is. But in it, Billie is kind of leaning towards Tre and is kind of petting his hair. However, one of his eyes is kind of looking at Mike and his other hand is on Mike's ass and it looks like he's pulling him close. Anyway, this is also from Tre's point of view of what's going on. In the middle, Billie and Tre kiss for the audience to get them going, but Tre's hurt that it's not for real. And he knows in his heart that Billie's thinking about Mike. The last verse confirms who this poem talks about. Without further ado, here it is.

Too Close To Be Enough

You're smiling
And you're beautiful
I'd like to think, just for a moment
That you're mine, but it's all an act.
I can see right past
That smile of yours

Your eyes are on me
But they turn to the side
Your hand cups my hair
But your other holds him near.
It's all so clear
That I can never have you.

I laugh and I take it
But I breathe in your kiss
The audience cheers
Oh, I've been waiting for this.
You're still smiling
It meant nothing to you.
And you pull away.
Please don't pull away

He's laughing too, but his eyes burn
He knows it will always be his turn
A devious smile plays on his face.
If only you'd let me have my own place

Your strong arms stiffen my back
But I'm always playing it cool.
Can I say it?
I can't say it.
There's nothing I want more than you.

I really liked that one.
There was this simplistic beauty in it.
