  | September 27th, 2006 at 12:07pm This is one of two poems based on pictures of Green Day. It's written from Tre's point of view about what he sees when Billie Joe and Mike are about to kiss and then kiss.
All Eyes Are Closed
Bold lips darting forth
All eyes are closed
His clear blue
and yours lined with black.
I lament the courage
I strongly lack
All eyes are closed but mine.
Mine sway back and forth
Undecided and scared.
I see you; I see you happy.
And I cannot help but
Feel the ice hold touch of jealousy
Grappling onto my insides
My soul turns green
Green like your eyes
They look into his blue
He doesn't deserve you--doesn't want you
He doesn't need you like I do.
I don't think I can hide it
My hands ball into fists
Wishing they were cupped around
Your soft ones--gentle ones
Or your subtle cheeks
As your kitten-soft lips
Mold around mine.
Will you ever be mine?
He is yours; I can feel it
In my bones
Unjustified anger, pouring
From my pores, angry for you
But your eyes stay closed
Lined with black
His blue and plain
And your hands run
through his ruffled-gold hair
All eyes are closed but mine.
I have eyes only for you.
I posted this a couple times in my journal, but it didn't get to much of a response. Personally, I feel proud of myself for being able to write this, because I got it from speculating about a picture. Well, actually, it was a paused video, but whatever. It makes me feel good to know that I can do that because it was something I'd always wanted to try. Go me! |
