Posts: 2538 | September 29th, 2006 at 04:51pm This one is a lot shorter than some of the others I've written. I'd just like to thank you guys for being so supportive of me. I would dedicate this to you, but I don't think it would be all that appropriate.
We've replaced the starshine for redlights in mid-conversation.
They burn with as much fevour as these fingertips when there's
enough space left between us for my limited inhibition to fill.
I'm longing to ask if these fireflies are for stopping or suggestion
but words are over-ruled when my mind is frozen into repetition.
"Keep your distance, angel. You know every friction mark left
on your skin will be matched by notches on the mattress in lust."
I can't trust these lips to convey that same message when they
stutter between "I miss" and "I want" and it's always you at the end.
I'm laughing in cue with every joke that you wind around us as
that "Do Not Cross" tape we obey with our palms in our pockets.
My mind is wondering how we ended up bonded in ways past
what we were always adjusted to when we're in company like this.
And I apologise but my thoughts always work past watersheds
when protecting the innocent was generally the last thing I wanted. |
