ANIME/MANGA: Azumanga Daioh

Azumanga Daioh is a series created by Kiyohiko Azuma. It follows a group of girls in a certain high school from tenth grade to their graduation day. It's not in the form of a traditional manga, it's really more in the form of comic strips, but each one has a connection with the next. There are four volumes in the manga series. I don't know about the anime, though, but I want to watch it very badly. Anyway, the characters are:

1. Yukari Tanizaki (English teacher)
2. Minamo Kurosawa/Nyamo (PE teacher)
3. Tomo Takino
4. Yomi Mizuhara
5. Chiyo Mihama
6. Sakaki
7. Kaorin (she's not really that important)
8. Kagura
9. Ayumu Kasuga/Osaka
10. Mr. Tadakichi (Chiyo-chan's dog)
11. Maya (Sakaki's cat)
12. Chiyo-chan's Dad/the weird looking cat.


I suppose you have to read them or watch the show in order to understand the twelfth character. But it's really cool and it's one of my favorite manga. The characters have very distinct personalities. You should definitely give it a shot if you haven't had a chance to check it out or if you've never heard of it. It's fucking hilarious. It's a lot of comedy. Sometimes, the translation is a little weird so the grammar is only a little off. But don't take to much notice of it. As a matter of fact...
