An Ode to Hope.

Days seem to fly by with no sense of urgency,
Leaving behind what you thought was for real,
Mercyless taunting the time has forsaken thee,
It couldn't care less for the pain that you feel.

The world turns it's back in your eyes such a crying shame,
Feeling no love tries to wipe off the tears,
Wishing for something to make it all seem worth while,
Just open the heart you've kept locked up for years.

Of course it seems difficult showing a bleeding heart,
Just give it time and the pain will subside,
A battle for hope and a war for the glory,
The feeling you get when you know that you've tried.

Life throws you through hallways of bleak understandings,
The arms of your past push you down with no heel,
Get back up and fight it and push down the walls,
Just open your eyes and you'll find it's not real.
