I don't usually find it helps me to think straight, but when I picked up my pad a few minutes ago I couldn't make what I felt into sentences, so I just wrote it all down very quickly as a kind of poem. It's not great, but it was exactly what was in my head when I put pen to paper.
Grip, twist
Bleed.
Empty silence is desolation;
Crowded silence is deafening
Social fences are oil and water
Washed up marks
Tiny pebble, enclosed drop
Storming
Tide
Drop in the ocean;
Point in the abyss
Elevated freedom yet sinking weight
Depth. Boil.
Stop.
Twist and rip
Suppressed rage
Burst. Pop. Smash.

That's amazing. To say you don't write poetry, that is just beautiful.
