Well, I don't agree with you.

Sex Pistols are the parents of Punk. Everyone knows it. Everyone knows Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious!

But Johnny's vocals were not too good if to be honest...

He's not overrated, he's not underrated. He's rated ok.

Albert Lee! i only just discovered him but my god! I tell you now country lead guitar could wipe the floor with any shredder, this guys simply amazing check a vid or two of his out on youtube, such speed without distortion!

yah i've seen some of his stuff on youtube (friend showed me). it's pretty awesome. country guitarists are actually really good. there's this other guy...jee i can't think of his name but he's another country guitarist, kind fat, long hair-ish....he's amazing as well.

haha your always the only person who knows what im talking about. My guitar teacher was showing me some of his solos that i hadnt heard before and hes just so quick and technical at the same time without sounding boring or repetitive, and hes English!

Most under rated guitarist ever has got to be Angus Young. He's terrific and hardly ever gets mentioned!

Most over rated musician has to be Kurt Cobain.

Angus Young is a legend! Even if a lot of their riffs are quite similar..they still freakin rock! I think a lot of people have heard of ac/dc but dont realise how good Angus is.

Yeah Kurt Cobains not just over-rated as a musician, hes over-rated as a person in general, hes definately not the genius people seem to think he was.

HA! I've just been thinking about Angus Young... LOOL!

He's really good, and he's being mentioned only by ppl who know smth about real music.

He's genius.

Just remember his dance! Very Happy

Kurt Cobain... Hmm... Loads of opinions, but he's definitely genius...

RIP, Kurt...

Mick's brilliant, I love his style. Just because he's not taking 20-minute solos doesn't mean he's not any good.

I hate shredders, I think it's pointless and cocky. I must say, I do love Van Halen though. Laughing

shredding is harsh cocky haha. doesn't matter though, it all sounds awesome to me =P even the stuff where it's based solely on speed [dragonforce] i love it =P

though i'm sure you don't 'hate' shredders. hate is a strong word haha. maybe you don't appreciate them as much as others do?

Yeah, I guess you're right. A lot of people I know think that you have to be a shredder to be a good guitarist, and I highly disagree with that. I think it's more about the passion you put into playing your instrument that determines whether you're good or not.

Mark Knopfler! He doesn't get mentiond much and the guy is fantastic, especially as all his stuff is fingerpicked. Sultans of Swing, Tunnel of Love, Romeo and Juliet...if you don't listen to Dire Straits you are missing out.

It is pretty cocky, but then again most people in famous rock bands have to be at least a LITTLE cocky. I'm not a fan of it either though, but hey. To each their own, right?

Let's see, who else is underrated.... Think

I dunno if he's underrated but I'm currently obsessed with Mike McCready from Pearl Jam. His solos, especially live, are awesome without being too excessive.
