Euphoria

A technicolour whirlwind,
My euphoric whirlwind,
Sugar spun sherbet, speeding through my veins,
A narcotic hit, paranoia's last stand,
Fluid caresses, drifting through my isolated mind.

Cyanide dreams, remnants of a lost romance;
Such a tragic sight to end this morbid trance.

An elaborate routine,
I'll break away gently,
Baby, you're like fire,
Fire, burning in my chest.

My emancipation,
I'm letting you go,
Just remember, you were my heart's last chance.

If you didn't repeat 'whirlwind', then that would be an amazing stanza. A few lines were a little cliched... but overall, I thought it was a pretty awesome attempt.

Those two lines there are just great. Totally describes taking drugs but without exact or direct reference to it. I love poems that use metaphors an such to 'beat around the bush'. Fantastic. It kind of drags away toward the end and goes a bit clichéd, but there's definitly something there.


I wrote a poem/song called Euphoria too. It was kinda like Muse's Invincible (although I wrote it before BH&R was released) and was mainly about football (soccer) XD
