Faded Love Notes

Love notes
Hidden in my box
I take them out
And read one by one

Smearing the ink
As my tears fall from my eyes
It was all over
With just a simple good-bye

All the notes
Ending with X’s & O’s
Love so and so’s
And I love you’s

But you don’t feel the same
As you did when you wrote these
You “moved” on
And left me here all alone

My heart is split in two
Between still loving you
And wanting to hate you

But these faded notes
I won’t let them control me
You left me for her
So you should rot in hell

So lighting this flame
Inside my fireplace
Grabbing the whole box
And dumping it out
Into this flame

Dropping to my knees
Not knowing how to feel
These faded love notes
Are now a thing in the past

Watching them burn
Finding a grin come across my face
Wishing you a better life
With that slut bag
You ran off with

Collecting myself
Standing up from my knees
Whipping these tears away
Knowing now everything will be okay

As I hope you will burn in hell
Just like these faded love notes
