Uncle Kracker is from Detroit, Michigan which is clear in his songs but now he lives in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.(Fifteen minutes away from my house =]) He started out his career at a young age as a fledgling rapper. He met Kid Rock in 1987, and Rock asked Kracker to become his DJ. Kracker did not know how to work the turntables, but he soon learned how to, and he became a long-term friend and colleague of Rock.

Kracker worked with Kid Rock until he became a solo recording artist in 2000. Double Wide, Kracker's debut album, was recorded in the back of a tour bus during Kid Rock's various tours in 1999 and 2000. It contains Kracker's first hit single, "Follow Me". It also features a minor hit, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", which features Kid Rock. As of now, Double Wide has been certified double-platinum by the RIAA. Kracker subsequently provided backing vocals on Rock's 2001 album, Cocky.

2002 saw the release of No Stranger to Shame. It blended rock with blues, rap, country, and swing. It contained the smash hit single "In a Little While", whose music video contained musician/TV host/supermodel Willa Ford, who acted as Kracker's girlfriend. In reality, Ford is a very close friend of Kracker's. The album also contained the hit singles "Drift Away" (a cover version of the Dobie Gray original), and "Memphis Soul Song".

In 2004, Kracker released his third album, Seventy-Two and Sunny. The rap element was totally abandoned, leaving a straight forward country-blues offering. It contains the hit single "Rescue".

And please don't bash his name.
I hate that and it's annoying and immature when people do that.

Are you saying you bought a CD called "Follow Me" because he doesn't have a CD called "Follow Me". He has a song called "Follow Me". "Follow Me" is on his CD "Double Wide."

I know. I've been a fan of his since the beginning. I've met him and he's really nice. We go to his concerts every year on thanksgiving because now we call it our tradition and last year he gave my little brother his hat. His bassist talks to me while he's playing too so I call him my bassist buddy. And, yesterday at his concert, my dad was really drunk and him and this other drunk lady started fighting and he yelled at them. He's like "Are you guys done yet because we're not going to have this at an Uncle Kracker concert. I don't want someone going home on Thanksgiving day from the Uncle Kracker concert saying that they had their ass kicked." He's so cool. We've had a lot of experiences with him.

I used to like his songs when I was younger.
I live around Mt. Clemens too (Clinton Twp. actually).
And anyways my cousin who live in Mt. Clemens
told me about how Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker would walk around
their neiborhood because they had friends around there.
pretty cool. Cool

That one song from 01 like tormented me on the bus when I was in 9th grade. Because there was this girl who would only listen to that song on repeat everyday at the end of the year.
