TragicCaseofMyReality King For A Couple Of Days Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2350	December 31st, 2006 at 11:37pm I want to know what you think of the movie. This is only one of the BEST movies ever made. For those of you who have been living under a rock or just haven't seen it yet...Its about a rich girl named Rose( who is getting married to Caledon Hawkley over in Philadelphia) and Jack(a guy who wins his ticket in a lucky game of poker.) Rose is in First class on the TITANIC and feels like she is going to explode if she continues on life as she is and finally she decides to jump off the back of the boat to end it all. But Jack talks some sense into her-about how cold the water is-like a thousand knives stabbing you to the point where you can't think about anything.Except the pain. So she decides to come back over, but almost falls.He pulls her over but some members of the crew heard her scream and think Jack was trying to rape her. So Cal was yelling at Jack, who looked to Rose for some help-and then cal said "Look at me you filth" but then rose came up to cal and said she was just trying to look at the propellers.And then the crew member said "was that the way of it" and Jack agreed even though it was a lie.Then he got invited to dinner(more a move to poke fun at him than of gratefulness of Cal's part.) Rose went to thank Jack the next day "Not just for pulling [her] back but for [Jack's] indescretion" and she learns he is an artist.then he teaches her how to spit like a man and she keeps growing more and more fond of him as he does to her. After the Dinner Jack passed a note to Rose while kissing her telling her to "make it count.meet me at the clock" then they went to the 3rd class dinner-more of party. but Lovejoy(Cal's "undertaker of a manservant" followed her and Cal yelled at her the next morning because she said she was 2 tired to come to him the night before. Then Rose's mom forbid her to see jack ever again with a guilt trip to go along with it. So Jack found her on the top deck while she was getting a tour of the boat. He told her to break free because "sooner or later that fire that i love about you rose, that fire is going to burn out." So then Later she finds him and then he does a picture of her wearing only the heart of the ocean, and they have to run away from Lovejoy-they end up in the storage at the bottom of the ship-in a car... and then when they get back on the main deck the iceberg hits.They go to tell Cal and Mrs. DeWitt Beaucater(SP) about it and then cal gets Jack thrown in jail. Rose saves Jack later and then they finally make it to the top of the boat but then Cal won't except that Rose would rather be Jack's "whore" then his wife so he chases them with a gun, and they end up in the water again.They make their way up again, but by this time the ship is sinking fast and they have to go to the back of the ship, eventually to the place where they first met. When the ship goes down they lose each other but then he finds her again and find a door, but it can't fit both of them, so he lets her stay on it.He makes her promise to "never let go", and she doesn't. She takes his last name in America after getting rescued by the Carpathia.

I cry every time I watch it, and I've seen it so much, I even have some parts memorized, but not many because it's so long. I have the collector's edition. All I can say is that it's a beautiful movie.

I do that sometimes when i don't feel like bawling my eyes out. Ahhh, i love that part!!! "Make it count, Meet me at the Clock" and then they go and she downs the beer and he looks stunned and she goes "What, you think a first class girl can't drink?" but that stupid lovejoy guy followed them....can you tell i've watched it like a billion times??? Infact I just bought the DVD today( i only had the VHS, now i have both )

I know the history behind Titanic already. I did before I watched it. They had the people's names write even Brian-the guy that worked in the morse code room thing. Though, the captain did fall off the ship and get back on to go down with the ship. They didn't show him fall off but they did show him going down with the ship. There wasn't really a Jack and Rose but thats why its Historical Fiction.Like Pearl Harbor. I also read from the first hand accounts that one of white star line people did shoot himself, and the part where they have to cut the life boat down because another one was going to come down on top of it was true also. The guy that dressed up and said "we are prepared to go down like gentlemen." and then asked for a Brandy-that part was True also. He and his servant. Madeline Astor really was pregnant, Bruce Isthmay really did get on a life boat, and even though they didn't get everything right they did get a majority of it right.

Nyra Shoot Me, I'm A Newbie Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 21	January 5th, 2007 at 02:00pm I love this movie too. I like sinking ships (I actually think that I died on one in a past life ) This movie was sad, but there were also a few funny parts (ie, when Cal falls over when he's trying to shoot Jack and Rose, lol)
