ImageHaving spent their early years pumping out catchy, punky riffs, Splendid Eddie are now trying to expand their sound by mixing in more experimental genres. The band started in late 2004, the original line-up being Adam Hadwen, Joe Marsh, Sam Stevens on guitar and brother Ben on vocals. After a lot of persuasion, Barney Town joined in time for their first proper gig, at Herne Farm Community Centre in Petersfield (Hell yeah!). Shortly after this gig, and halfway through the recording of the first EP, Genitals Of Fury, Ben decided it wasn't for him he preferred standing the other side of the stage in support! The band were left without a vocalist! Enter Kyle McKiver. About a month after Kyle joined, Eddie were playing the Wedgewood Rooms supporting The Exposed...which was a thoroughly good wheeze! The band had a brief hiatus to write new songs, and were joined by Chris Colbran on the trombone.

The line-up was complete...or so it seemed!

In January 2006, guitarist and writer of many catchy riffs Sam decided to quit. He was rapidly replaced by Joe's brother Sam (within about and hour to be precise!), and although the appointment seemed only temporary, Sam decided to stay when he realised what a fun experience performing with the band was! The arrival of Sam also meant that the age gap ranged from 17 up to 22! Eddie recorded their debut album A Legacy To Follow in Spring 2006.

This looks to be a good year for the band, having scored support slots with the likes of Adequate 7, Fandangle, Mumrah, and Schoolboy Error, and finally playing in places which aren't just Portsmouth!
