Take That Step

Where we always used to drift to sleep under the stars. Who really left, my dear? Is this remorse, relief? Who's really the angel? I know, you know, I run from you. That feeling of guilt. That feeling I get. I can feel your eyes bore holes in mine, but can you feel a thing? Are you proud of me? How I carry on? I swollow that lump in my throat way too often. So often, I dont feel the pills slide down. Won't you come join me? I'm sitting on the edge, like we always used to do? Don't you miss holding me? Making sure I don't fall, I cling to you, deep breath. Standing on the barrier, getting closer to you. Why did you lie to me, Steven? How dare I speak your name. Losing grip, losing balance. I feel you push me back, I giggle. Silly boy... Swaying now, singing our song. No one will never understand how easy it is to take that step. Over the edge, and back into your lover's arms. |

I can feel your eyes bore holes in mine, but can you feel a thing? That was my favorite stanza. No one will never understand how easy it is to take that step. Over the edge, and back into your lover's arms That was a great way to end the poem. Wonderful Job Hannah. |
