I have been told to count my blessings
But my blessings shouldn’t have been numbered
I shouldn’t know when this will end
I don’t want to be a statistic
Granted, it wouldn’t be that different
I still only get so much
But I don’t need to know how much is so much
It takes the fun out of nothing at all
But nothing is enough to make it hurt
I don’t know how I will die
And I wouldn’t listen if you told me
If you told me I would get shot
I would jump off a building
Just to prove you wrong
Please just let me be

I really liked this. I loved how you contradicted so many typical phrases and challenged society's perception with images like 'I have been told to count my blessings/But my blessings shouldn’t have been numbered'.

Short and sweet, it packs in a good message and is clearly accessible. And I don't know if this was intentional, but I especially liked how the structure slower tapered down to the last line.
