so frail, so pale
you used to be
you used to remind me
of how green the grass was
when i saw your flower
i wrote you a letter
it seemed like a thing you'd do
so i copied you
you used to remind me
of how humans can care
i tried and got used to it
now the black bedsheet envelopes me
your flower reminded me
of the fresh green grass
of the early rain
and how i watched the snow melt
i tried but you got used to me
the sun woke me up
i only saw a flick of you
before you left for the lands of summer again
you seemed like something worth trying
you told me i could care
i tried but sadly got used to it. |
