Quite possibly the kings of college radio and writers of some of the most introspective pop music out there today. Michael Stipe has to be in the top five all-time of greatest rock singers, up there with guys like Bono.
I think my favorite songs are "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" (which I know all the words to), "Bad Day", "I'll Take The Rain", and "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" (I taunt my friend Kenny with that all the time, and yes, I know it comes from some incident with Dan Rather).

I really like them.
Not a HUGE fan, only heard 'Automatic for the People'.
Like most of the songs on it.
Michael Stipe has a great voice.
