sat on the steps, alcohol flavoured perfume and
red-marred countenance.
“When you've reached the top
you'll see that it's a long way to fall.”
Her revelation morphed into the red hued darkness,
flashing yellow lights highlighting unimportant crevices
and capturing concrete bound tears.
The grime beneath my shoes become a thing of wonder,
an oddity that such insignificance exist in our
realm of heavy decisions and haunting regret.
Silence
deafens rumbling buses and impatient BMWs,
thickening the inky black of back streets.
If only I gave in to the urge to say:
Just when you think it is the end of the world,
you realize it is so much bigger than your own. |
