My music teachers band!
Dan used to live in Canberra & recently moved to my town.
By my research, Malumba were/are very famous there, & all over australia!
He taught at Canberra High School for multiple years.

'Malumba are an energetic, creative and original world music band based in Canberra, Australia. The music Malumba plays weaves together the sounds of many cultures, creating a unique and extremely danceable music. Drawing from influences as diverse as Celtic, Flamencan, African, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, and Latin, Malumba's music is as varied as the Australian multiculture. Underlying all is the love of improvisation that all four band members developed during their jazz studies.

Since forming in 1998, Malumba have independantly released 3 full length albums, Where Many Paths Meet, Interwoven, and Patterns of Change.'

I believe they have been inactive for just over a year so I wouldn't recommend contacting them.
Their music is not my particular cup of tea, I enjoy it but wouldn't purchase any of their products..plus I can hear Mr E at school because he does 'concerts' with students in our hall!
He is very nice by what I've seen...very shy too!
He borrowed one of my Cure CD's & talked to me when I got introuble by another teacher & had to write lines!
Alot of people say he is a awesome teacher.

Tell us what you think!

Anywho...I'm out!

Famous all over Australia? Never even heard of 'em...guess it's because I don't listen to this kinda stuff...
I listened to one of the songs...I mean, it's not crap, and it doesn't kill me to listen to it (like rap for example). But there's absolutely no way I'd purchase any of their music...Smile

Ha yeah a few days ago Dan played with some of the kids at the SRC concert at school..he did somes stuff on the keyboard & flute, it was cool.
One of the main reasons I put this topic up is because I have a crush on Dan...haha..he is pretty damn cool.
