The IVs,
And clumps of hair.
Bald spots and weakness,
Chemotherapy and radiation,
Fifteen minutes of being burnt,
The surgeries and fear.
Not being able to walk,
Can't drink, eat, or talk,
Everyone there for you.
I was scared,
I hated to see you like that,
I was afraid of you leaving.
I wouldn't talk to you,
I couldn't understand,
I wish I would have said more.
The last few days we were there,
They gave you four days,
You lived seven.
The last day I came in,
I checked on you,
I wish I would have said "I love you",
A half an hour later I heard mom,
She sounded scared and she was crying,
I got up and looked down the hall,
There you were,
Laying on your stomach,
Completely still.
Your eyes were black,
I'll never forget your face.
The ambulance was there short after,
They wheeled you out and took you away from me.
I'll always regret not saying Good Bye.
