Franny.:
Phantom Lord:
Fender standard is better thsn most Ibanez's, but if it is a Squire go with an Ibanez

that's not true. fenders are better made, but ibanez's give off a better sound than fender (well for guitars anyway).

'better' is a matter of opinion. some would prefer the fender tone, guitar wise..some people might wanna sound more like clapton or hendrix than they do steve vai or joe satriana.

Fenders much better, I like the style that Fender has. Ibanez guitars are all solid colors and they look boring.

Ibanez definetly
Fender has sum good qualities but
if you want a kick ass sound go for the ibanez
however im in a metal band and ibanez fullfills my every need
if your in a punk band, fender is reasonably good for that particular genre.

Ibanez against a crappy Squier? NO CONTEST!

(And I'm sure most of you know this, but it must be said... a squier is not a Fender!)

It really just depends on what is it that you want to play.

For someone like myself, who likes to play Metal, smothered in creamy layers of Metal, sprinkled with tiny bits of Metal, and roasted to medium rare perfection, well, the best guitars ever for that are Gibsons. Cool

But of course, there are different types of Gibsons...

You just have to define what do you want to play, and find an instrument that allows you to play just that.

But I believe that Strats have good sound variety, that is, if you don't want to play just one thing and if you're still a beginner.

Fender has great guitars, but Ibanez makes REALLY good acoustic basses. I play one everytime I see one.
